About the role
We are looking for a Butchery Assistant / Meat Prep Assistant to join our team in Glasgow. This is not a full butcher role. The position mainly involves packing meat, filling and organising the chilled display, basic cutting and preparation such as meat and spare ribs, labelling products, checking dates, stock rotation, and cleaning the work area.
Main duties
- Pack and label meat products
- Fill and organise the meat fridge / display
- Basic cutting and preparation of meat and spare ribs
- Check dates and rotate stock
- Keep the work area, equipment, fridge and floors clean
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures
Requirements
- Experience in meat packing, food preparation or similar work preferred
- Basic knife skills
- Good hygiene and cleaning standards
- Level 2 Food Hygiene / Food Safety Certificate preferred
- Able to work in a chilled environment
- Able to lift and move stock safely
- Reliable and punctual
- Right to work in the UK
