Matthew James Recruitment is proud to be working with one of the worlds leading cargo handling companies, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Duty Manager to join the team at London Heathrow.
Working Hours -4 on / 4 off 12-hour shifts,18:0006:00)
In this role, you will oversee a fleet of around 50 trucks and drivers, managing a team of 56 planners while acting as the first point of contact for drivers, customers, and key hauliers. With responsibility for planning, compliance, communication, and service delivery, youll play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across transport activities.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and develop a team of planners to effectively manage driver operations.

Oversee daily transport planning, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and performance.

Act as the central liaison across operational areas, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

Maintain compliance with all transport legislation, company policies, and Health & Safety standards.

Drive improvements by proposing and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and service levels.

Manage KPIs across compliance, service delivery, and financial performance.

Foster a safe and secure working environment for staff and company assets.

Provide clear communication across teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and operational success.
What Were Looking For

5+ years experience in transport management, ideally within a multi-site environment.

Strong knowledge of the airfreight distribution sector.

Proven leadership skills, with the ability to set objectives, motivate teams, and manage performance.

Resilient and adaptable, with a strong ability to manage change within a fast-paced environment.

CPC National/International qualification (Essential).

ADR and Hazardous Goods awareness (Level D Cargo Operations) desirable.
