The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Storesperson to join a busy and growing operation. This role is ideal for someone with strong warehouse and stock control experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate inventory records. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials, stock and equipment are received, stored and issued efficiently while supporting the wider warehouse and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries.
- Loading and unloading vehicles using Forklift Trucks.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and inventory levels.
- Picking and issuing parts, materials and consumables to internal departments.
- Carrying out regular stock counts and cycle counts.
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Ensuring all goods are stored safely and correctly.
- Updating stock movements using warehouse management systems and spreadsheets.
- Preparing materials for dispatch and arranging shipments where required.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe stores environment.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and stores function.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience working within a Storesperson, Stock Controller, Warehouse Operative or Materials Controller role.
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
- Experience using stock control or warehouse management systems.
- Good understanding of goods-in, goods-out and inventory processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Desirable Experience
- Reach Truck licence.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
