Matthew James Recruitment are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Support Assistant to join our clients' dynamic sales team. The primary focus of this role is to support the sales department by appointment setting and lead generation. You will also provide administrative and operational support to help the business function efficiently and effectively. You will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by acting as a liaison between internal departments and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make outbound calls to prospective clients using targeted lead lists, CRM systems and proactive prospection.
- Qualify leads through initial conversations, identifying decision-makers and assessing interest.
- Schedule appointments for the external sales team, ensuring efficient calendar coordination.
- Follow up on marketing campaigns and inbound inquiries to generate new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions, appointments, and lead statuses in the CRM system.
- Meet or exceed monthly targets for calls made and appointments booked.
- Provide administrative support to the sales team, including but not limited to processing sales orders, supporting with the quoting process and supporting with sales proposals and presentations.
- Responsible for raising purchase orders within the companies Accounting System.
- Liase with the Production department to check order status and lead times for customer orders.
- Support with order tracking, invoicing, and resolving delivery or product issues.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a sales support, administrative, or customer service role.
- Articulate and Focused
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
