Are you an experienced child care lawyer ready to make a real difference for families and children? Our client is recruiting a Child Care Solicitor (minimum 3 years PQE) to join their busy and respected Child Care team, acting for parents and grandparents across Derbyshire. You’ll work in a supportive, fast-paced environment and gain extensive advocacy experience across all stages of child care proceedings.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a varied caseload of child care matters from start to finish
- Attend case protection conferences, pre–proceedings matters and PLOs
- Represent clients at contested hearings and court advocacy
- Provide clear, practical advice to parents, relatives and other parties
- Draft legal documents, statements and applications
- Liaise with clients, social workers and opposing lawyers
- Prepare for court and support clients through emotionally sensitive processes
- Build strong professional relationships with referrers and stakeholders
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with minimum 3 years PQE in child care or family law
- Confident advocate with experience in court representation
- Comfortable managing your own caseload of public law proceedings
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong drafting, organisational and analytical ability
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Children Panel Accreditation (or working toward it) would be advantageous.
