A leading industrial engineering business is looking for a Regional Technical Manager to lead its Applications Engineering and Technical Sales teams across Northern England and Scotland. Based remotely from home, you can be based anywhere in the North West, or North East.

This is a senior technical management role focused on CNC machining, cutting tools, metalworking applications and delivering engineering solutions to key manufacturing customers.

The Regional Technical Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing a regional team of Applications Engineers and Technical Sales Engineers
  • Supporting the delivery of turnkey engineering and metalworking solutions
  • Managing cutting tool trials, technical enquiries and customer cost-saving projects
  • Ensuring contractual commitments are delivered across key and national accounts
  • Supporting engineers with account management, project pipelines and new business opportunities
  • Building relationships with senior customer stakeholders
  • Setting clear objectives and creating a high-performance, accountable team culture
  • Recruiting, coaching and developing engineering and technical sales professionals
  • Working with strategic cutting tool and engineering suppliers
  • Collaborating with Territory Sales, Business Development, Product Management and Marketing teams
  • Driving growth across CNC machining, cutting tools and metalworking accounts

The ideal Regional Technical Manager will have:

  • Previous experience managing Applications Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers or Technical Sales Engineers
  • A strong background in CNC machining, cutting tools or metalworking
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including milling, turning and machining applications
  • Experience delivering technical engineering solutions to manufacturing customers
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth and cost-saving opportunities
  • Proven leadership, coaching and team development experience
  • Excellent customer management and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience within industrial supply, precision engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous

In return, the Regional Technical Manager will receive:

  • £65,000-£67,500 basic salary
