Electrical Technician – Electrical Installation & Commissioning Location: Abingdon Duration: 6-12 months Job Type: Contract Rate: £35 – £50 phr (inside IR35) A new and exciting contract opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Technician / Commissioning Technician with a strong background in electrical installation and system commissioning. About the Role: We are looking for skilled Electrical / Commissioning Technicians to oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of special purpose machinery and associated equipment. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the electrical installation and commissioning of control systems. * Assemble, test, and commission control racks. * Work closely with design engineers to collate and execute test and commissioning schedules. * Provide hands-on support during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. Required Skills: * Formal electrical/electronic background (recognised electrical apprenticeship). * Strong ability to interpret schematic wiring diagrams and assembly drawings. * Experience in commissioning and testing electrical control systems. * Proficiency in using PC-based test equipment and common software packages. * Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. * Ability to work effectively in a small team and follow structured installation procedures. Desired Skills: * Basic CAD package familiarisation. * Understanding of PLCs and basic fault-finding.
