A leading engineering organisation is seeking a skilled and motivated Design & Project Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering projects across specialised industrial sectors.
Key responsibilities of the Design & Project Engineer:
- Produce detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for pipework, pump systems, and associated equipment.
- Work collaboratively with senior engineers and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Prepare technical documentation, including calculations, reports, and project plans.
- Support cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement of materials and equipment.
- Conduct site visits to oversee installation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with design intent.
- Ensure all work meets relevant industry standards, quality expectations, and health & safety requirements.
Requirements of the Design & Project Engineer:
- Proven experience in a design/project engineering role within fluid handling, water, or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, pipework systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software, ideally Inventor.
- Experience using Autodesk Vault for document control and revision management.
- Ability to produce and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication details.
- Understanding of materials, stress considerations, and system layouts within process environments.
- Good grasp of project delivery, cost control, and scheduling.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects.
