The role requires good understanding and experience of the GB On-Trade wine channel, the current wine market trends and positioning of our newly formed wine division within C&C Wine Group comprising of Matthew Clark, Bibendum, Bibendum Off-Trade, Walker and Wodehouse and Tennent's Direct.

The focus of the role will be working closely with some of our key local and overseas wine suppliers that operate across all C&C Business Units, on and off trade.

Our ambition is to develop best-in-class wine strategy and in-market activation, display leadership and deliver trade marketing plans that meet our group's financial targets and supplier ambitions.

The successful candidate will work cross functionally with our various teams including marketing, suppliers, wine buyers, sales teams and insights for all three Business Units, aligned to the central marketing strategies.

Also be a touch point for all strategic wine brands that operate in the off-trade, multiples and specialists.

  • Design & Deliver business plans that will meet budgeted targets, revenue and profit.
  • Regular and effective communication with sales teams to support implementation of activities
  • Be the 'go to' person for the supplier to the sales force and internal stakeholders
  • Regularly review the plans and promotional performance to drive improvements.
  • Be the trade marketing touch point for select wines brands that operate in the off trade
  • Negotiations with suppliers annually to drive incremental funding support for activity calendars
  • Quarterly review meetings, analysing activity performance and agree next period planning
  • Be the primary day to day contact for a group of suppliers (non-buying)
  • Ensure active participation by suppliers at national and regional agreed events, develop market visits and incentive trips to wineries where relevant
  • Develop brand assets and sales tools with suppliers; training materials, customer facing content
  • Management of Cross category campaigns e. g., Christmas, sustainability, summer campaigns
  • Work cross functionally with Marketing, Digital & e-commerce to deliver online sales growth
  • Excellent level of wine knowledge is essential, working towards WSET Level 3 or higher
  • Sound knowledge and keen interest in the drinks/wine industry, On-Trade & Off-Trade exposure
  • Commercial awareness and understanding, budgeting. managing A&P spend
  • Previous experience within wine marketing, trade marketing with strong promotional elements
  • Highly effective communicator with an ability to maintain strong relationships
  • Passionate about brands, promotions, and sales
  • Results-orientated, analytical & committed to delivering agreed plans
