MatthewArnold School is a thriving and inclusive school on the outskirts of Oxfordseeking to appoint a Teacher of Science from 01 January 2027 to coverpaternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for either an EarlyCareer Teacher or an experienced practitioner looking to further develop theircareer. We teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology, with consistentlystrong GCSE outcomes and successful A Level courses. Keyresponsibilities include:
- Teaching Science across a range of ages andabilities, including GCSE and A Level.
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessonsthat inspire and challenge students.
- Monitoring, assessing and supporting studentprogress.
- Contributing to the development ofdepartmental schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Supporting enrichment activities andinitiatives that promote Science within and beyond the classroom.
- Promoting high standards of behaviour,achievement and student welfare.
Requirements
- Degree in a Science with Qualified TeacherStatus.
- Experience teaching Science in a secondaryschool setting, including teaching placements.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding ofthe Science curriculum.
- Ability to inspire, engage and effectivelysupport students of all abilities while delivering excellent outcomes.
- A collaborative approach, commitment toprofessional development, and genuine enthusiasm for Science education.
