Hours: Rotational 4 day week, 37.5 hours
Salary: £34,000-£35,500 DOE per annum + bonus and benefits

Purpose of Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen to support site production, ensuring agreed KPIs are met by carrying out effective maintenance tasks to a high standard and to assist in the development of staff to maximise efficiency and quality. The successful candidate will carry out site maintenance tasks when required as per the company’s computerised maintenance system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety & Compliance
- Health & Safety is the company’s top priority and must be adhered to at all times
- Operate machinery and processes safely and in line with legislation and company procedures
- Report unsafe practices, accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Engineering Manager
- Ensure hygiene, food safety, and site compliance standards are consistently met
- Maintenance & Plant Performance
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure production equipment is available, reliable, and operating at agreed output and efficiency levels
- Rectify breakdowns promptly and effectively to minimise downtime
- Plan maintenance activities in collaboration with production to ensure no stoppages
- Ensure all products meet agreed quality and safety standards while maintaining minimal waste
- Participate in maintenance reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies
- Site & Equipment Maintenance
- Complete site and equipment maintenance tasks generated through the CMMS in line with agreed schedules
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in accordance with company procedures
- Work Environment & Housekeeping
- Maintain clean, safe working areas to prevent contamination and safety risks
- Use only approved engineering chemicals and materials
- Keep the engineering workshop clean, organised, and compliant
- Ensure all tools are maintained, accounted for, and fit for purpose
- Administration & Communication
- Record all maintenance activities accurately within the CMMS
- Complete task risk assessments, control measures, and documentation for all work carried out
- Maintain quality control records and book spare parts out of the system
- Raise purchase requests for spare parts when required
- Complete Permit to Work documentation alongside a competent person when applicable
- Communicate effectively via email and verbal updates as required
- Liaise with colleagues, other departments, contractors, and external suppliers to ensure work is completed safely and on time
- Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively to support departmental and business objectives
- Treat colleagues with respect and contribute positively to team culture
- Participate in broader departmental activities and encourage continuous improvement
- Engage actively in team briefs and effective handovers
Person Specification:
- Education / Qualifications / Training:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
- Educated to HNC level in an appropriate engineering discipline
- A recognised health & safety qualification would be a benefit
- Experience:
- Essential: Qualified maintenance engineer with experience in a manufacturing environment post qualification
- Electrical bias with mechanical experience
- Desirable: Full UK driving license, experience working in small teams, experience working in a food/drink environment, experience with computerised maintenance systems, working knowledge of PLC systems
- Skills / Knowledge:
- Essential: Strong knowledge of safe working practices, excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills, clear and confident communicator, ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads effectively, computer literate (Email, Excel, Word, CMMS), proactive self-starter with the ability to work under pressure
