Position: Buyer

Location: Head Office, Glasgow

Job Type: Full time, permanent (39.5 hours)

Hours: Monday to Friday (08.30- 17:00 Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:30 Friday, office based).

Salary: £30,000.00 per annum

Purpose Of Role

The Buyer is responsible for procurement activities of specific categories. This includes working with all internal departments to get required specifications of a product or service to sourcing and negotiate best overall value for the company. Onboarding and managing supplier relationships while ensuring the supplier deliver contractually negotiated services. Making sure that the company Procurement policy is adhered to by supporting internal departments with their purchasing requirements.

Raising Purchase Orders after internal purchasing approval and maintaining optimum levels of all stock by building strong relationships with suppliers and all internal customers. This role monitors stock levels to ensure optimum number of products are available from a business perspective with due consideration for financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and take actions to ensure company procurement policy is adhered to.
  • Negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
  • Onboarding, develop and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Source products or services to required specification to best value for the company.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for goods and services.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Stocked products replenishment products to agreed stock holding days or min max requirements at each stock location.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability.
  • Analyse market trends and identify new suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing.
  • Managing Fleet related tasks
