Position: Sales Development Executive
Location: Glasgow Office, 16 Lawmoor Road, Glasgow, G5 0UL
Job type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 39.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: £26,880.00 per annum plus on-target earnings (up to £400 per month)

About the role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Development Executive to join us here at Matthew Algie on a permanent full time basis with fixed Monday – Friday shifts. The role holder is responsible for achieving their agreed sales targets by selling Matthew Algie and Espresso Warehouse products in line with the agreed company pricing parameters. The role holder may be required to travel to attend monthly and quarterly sales meetings where targets are discussed along with training and review from the previous quarter. In the course of their work, the role holder is required to interact with customers at all levels across our customer base. This would be predominantly on the phone, but situations may arise where the role holder may need to interact with customers in person. The role holder is also required to interact effectively with managers and colleagues in other departments during their work. The role holder is required to influence the customers on the designated call plans and colleagues in other departments within parameters set down the line manager. The role holder should operate within the structure decision making parameters agreed with the line manager and as set out by the Sales & Marketing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for account management of bronze accounts
  • Explore opportunities to grow customer value/spend for bronze accounts
  • Investigate any service issues for bronze accounts
  • Liaise with CSM in the field as required for on site requirements

Planning / Preparation / Organisation

  • Prior to making every outbound call a full review of the customer product trade agreement is to be completed to establish sales opportunities
  • Review sales ledger reports to establish trading pattern
  • Review gap report
  • Ensure telephony/Laptop equipment is fully functional
  • Ensure necessary stationary is to hand

Making the call

  • Ensure correct telephone number is dialled
  • Ask for the contact/decision maker on site
  • State the purpose of the call
  • Take the customer order
  • Review the order, filling gaps and upsell promotions/gaps where applicable
  • Place the order on the Matthew Algie capture screen
  • Make effective use of all marketing support materials

Customer Care

  • Investigate any service issues
  • Confirm best call day and time & frequency
  • Confirm contact on site
  • Confirm all details on file are correct and collect email address
  • Assess potential account growth by relevant questioning

Review / Administration

  • Ensure customer order is captured correctly
  • Schedule next agreed date and time for call
  • Action and close all relevant call related administration
  • Communicate any relevant information to Coffee Sales Manager responsible for the account

Key Performance Indicators

  • 100% Overall Monthly GSV/NSV target
  • 100% Overall Monthly AOV target
  • 100% Overall Buyers % Target
  • 99.5% Order Accuracy
  • Minimum of 80 Calls per Day
  • >£4Kpm New product Placement & promotional Activity
  • All scheduled calls completed and on time
  • Monthly, Quarterly and annual sales targets achieved

About you

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have relevant previous experience in a similar role such as telesales, telemarketing or prospecting professional.

Education / Qualifications / Training

  • Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade or equivalent

Experience

  • Essential: Has worked in a busy call / contact centre environment in a telesales role
  • Has worked in a KPI driven environment and meets or exceeds KPIs
  • Desirable: Experience gained in a food or drinks related business
