Position: Workshop Technician (Repair Centre)
Location: Lisburn
Job Type: Full time, Permanent - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,960.00 per annum
Benefits: 28 days annual leave increasing with length of service plus 4 public holidays, attractive pension, medical cash-back system and as much coffee as you can drink!
Purpose of Role: To ensure the efficient refurbishment of Matthew Algie Equipment. Making sure the quality of all aspects of work carried out is to the highest standard possible, whilst constantly striving towards departmental aims, paying particular attention to:
- Quality
- Performance
- Reducing part usage where possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Refurbishment: Carry out refurbishment of machines to the highest standards, including refurbishment of machines to the current procedures on all grade 1 and 2 equipment with additional BTC and PSSR inspections carried out in compliance with Coffee Safe regulations.
- Pass quality checks carried out by RC Supervisors.
- Monitor and improve processes if required.
- Aim for performance to agreed targets which should lead to grade promotions.
- Maximise efficiency and minimise wastage: Record all work accurately, complete all machines to the required standard, fill out paperwork correctly and note any shortages on paperwork.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and procedures: Meet all legal and Health and Safety requirements, report all accidents to a member of Production Management, and report potential hazards as soon as possible.
- Hygiene: Adhere to the Company Hygiene Policy, ensuring all production staff perform job functions to the highest standard following all published procedures, Health and Safety, Legal, Quality and Environmental Management regulations. Keep all parts of the factory tidy and organised, ready for ‘third party audits’.
- Teamwork: Be fully aware of departmental performance, treat all members of staff with respect, get involved in broader department activities, seek areas for improvement, and engage in regular appraisals to discuss training needs and general performance.
- Effective Communication: Participate actively in team briefs and communicate ideas to improve departmental performance to your line manager.
- Administration: Carry out administration activities in a correct and professional manner to ensure the success of the department and maintain an audit trail for external auditors.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role such as in a repair centre or manufacturing environment, and experienced in the use of hand tools.
Skills / Knowledge: Qualification or certificate in NC Electrical & Engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent and a Coffee Safe PSSR accreditation.
Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and customer timeframes, ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility to meet the needs of the team and the customer, punctuality, a strong work ethic, personal motivation and enthusiasm.
