Matternet is on a mission to make access to goods as frictionless and universal as access to information. Since 2017, we’ve flown over 60,000 drone flights for healthcare and e-commerce, from building the world’s first urban medical drone routes in Switzerland to delivering everyday essentials to homes in the US. Now, for the first time, we’re expanding into the UK to support the NHS Drone Delivery Network, transforming the way medicines, tests, and supplies move between hospitals and patients. We’re looking for passionate, adaptable team members to help us bring our vision to life in London and beyond.

As a UAS Operations and Maintenance Technician, you’ll split your time between ground operations and keeping our fleet in top condition. You’ll ensure safe, reliable, and efficient deliveries for NHS sites, and work directly with our UK Operations Lead and global team to operate flights, test and maintain equipment, and represent Matternet in the field. This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves both the thrill of operations and the satisfaction of making sure every system works perfectly.

You Will:

  • Operate our proprietary drone technology at customer locations or test sites
  • Conduct pre‑flight inspections and monitor aircraft performance
  • Coordinate with our partners on‑site and internal teams
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drones and support equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime
  • Maintain accurate technical logs and maintenance records
  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate upgrades and improvements
  • Follow UK CAA regulations and Matternet’s SOPs to ensure safety and compliance
  • Support demonstrations and training for new routes and sites

Experience:

  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Technical background in UAS systems, aviation maintenance, or electronics
  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • UAS operational experience including operations in the specific category (preferred)
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced and high‑pressure environments
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and calm under pressure
  • Great communication with both technical teams and customers
  • Flexibility to travel and work varied schedules

Great Additions:

  • Pilot License (e.g., A2 CofC, GVC, PPL, CPL)
  • EASA Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Certifications
  • Experience with building drone platforms
