Private Brands is one of the most exciting growth engines within Matrix, and a key part of how we deliver on our mission to create standout, consumer-loved products across beauty, wellness, and lifestyle. We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join our lovely in-house Creative Studio. This role is all about researching, conceptualising, and creating standout packaging designs across our Matrix Private Brands portfolio. You’ll work with leading retailers, alongside exciting new opportunities that come our way. From developing new ranges to evolving existing ones, you’ll take ownership of projects and bring beauty concepts to life through packaging, presentation, and inspiring creative thinking.
What You’ll Do
- You’ll play a key part in shaping beauty ranges for our clients, delivering high standards of design execution while pushing creative boundaries.
- Confidently communicate and present ideas to clients, interpreting feedback and delivering against briefs at pace.
- Work closely with the Senior Designer and Graphic Designer, taking a leading role across multiple large-scale private brand projects.
- Be a true 360° thinker, applying best-in-class creativity across branding, packaging, print, and in-store shelf presence.
- Create and deliver cohesive, engaging, and inspiring decks to sell ideas internally and externally.
- Collaborate with Product, Innovation, and Insights teams on proactive projects.
- Plan ahead and manage project workflows to ensure timely input and direction.
- Review and critique product samples alongside Product teams and the Artworker to ensure creative excellence.
- Stay ahead of trends through research, competitive shops, publications, and insight collaboration.
- Push creative thinking beyond the expected - we want work that truly wows.
- Offer constructive feedback and demonstrate flexibility across all design team projects.
What You’ll Bring
- A strong portfolio showcasing concept creation and packaging design across beauty brands/projects.
- Prior experience or knowledge within the beauty industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail with flawless layout and aesthetic execution.
- Strong ability to interpret packaging briefs and translate them into compelling visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - able to articulate creative rationale confidently.
- Knowledge of packaging artwork, print, production processes, budget awareness, sustainability considerations, and lead times.
- Artworking skills are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple briefs with varying priorities and deadlines.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong PowerPoint skills for presentations.
- A design qualification is beneficial but not essential.
- Enthusiastic, passionate, and ready to make a big impact.
