Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) perform a wide range of duties to support patients and healthcare staff. Their primary responsibilities include:
- Personal Care and Hygiene: Assisting patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
- Daily Living Support: Helping patients with eating, mobility, transferring between beds or chairs, and other daily activities.
- Monitoring Health: Taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and blood glucose levels, and reporting any changes to the nursing team.
- Medical Assistance: Supporting nurses and doctors during procedures, changing dressings, preparing patients for therapy, and setting up medical equipment.
