Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse—Lactation Consultant (Maternal Child Dept, Postpartum) to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA.
- Employment Status: Full Time
- Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and half (8.5) or nine (9) hour period.

Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as an RN within the last two years
- Certifications: Board Certification Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant as determined by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). in addition to Basic Life Support. Possess and maintain certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Licensure: Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant and Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO.
Job Summary:
- Actively promote breastfeeding and develop and implement standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers in all areas of the organization as well as existing programs, such as: OB, Childbirth Education, and Breastfeeding classes.
- Be responsible for organizing information and preparing marketing material to promote breastfeeding, collaborating with Department Heads from Pediatrics, Family Practice, and OB/GYN for patient care education.
