We are hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team of talented medical professionals, to assist with one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams inLancaster, TX.
- Employment Status: Full Time
- Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 7:45am -4:45pm. (Male only required for job role)

Primary Purpose of Position
The Optum Serve Medical Assistant for the Dedicated network provides clinically competent delivery of quality medical care services required during Optum Serve operations within their scope of practice. The MA working at any Optum Serve site is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.
Role Responsibilities & Attributes
This role is patient-facing and can require working in a clinical setting. It is customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Male only required for this job role. \”When a patient is seen by a Medical Assistant, the Lancaster, TX facility provides the patient with the option for either a male MA or female MA, according to what will make the patient most comfortable during a sensitive examination or procedure. The Lancaster, TX facility therefore must provide patients with access to both male and female Medical Assistant to facilitate patient choice. This posting is specifically for a Male Medical Assistant,which will allow the Lancaster, TX facility to fulfill its male Medical Assistant staffing needs.\”
- Associate degree in medical assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, and/ or maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- IF required by state of operation: Maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Phlebotomy Certification from accrediting training course, when required by state requirements.
- Active/Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability/willingness to drive between work locations.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience (i.e., Primary Care, Family Care, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care).
- Willingness to complete CAOCH and Drug Testing Collection Certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Veterans, Service Members and Federal Employees.
- Current certification in Audio and Drug Testing Collection.
