Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse—Lactation Consultant (Maternal Child Dept, Postpartum) to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA.
Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
Schedule: Mon-Sun 6:30 am - 6:00 pm. 8.5 to 10.5 hour shifts. Shall provide services approximately one (1) weekend per month on a rotational basis. Typical shifts include 0730-1600 or 0800-1630. Final decision made by the clinic.

Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree of Nursing
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as an RN within the last two years
- Certifications: Board Certification. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant as determined by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). In addition to Basic Life Support (BLS), possess and maintain certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant.
Job Summary: Actively promote breastfeeding and develop and implement standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers in all areas of the organization as well as existing programs, such as: OB, Childbirth Education, and Breastfeeding classes. Be responsible for organizing information and preparing marketing material to promote breastfeeding, collaborating with Department Heads from Pediatrics, Family Practice, and OB/GYN for patient care education.
