Accommodation Procurement Officer: Secure good-quality, affordable private rented accommodation, building effective relationships with landlords and agents and ensuring properties meet the council's required quality and safety standards.
Tower Hamlets is establishing a new, dedicated team to significantly increase the number of homeless households moving out of temporary accommodation and into secure, sustainable homes. This is a high-profile, time-limited programme that sits at the heart of our response to one of the biggest challenges facing housing services in London, improving outcomes for homeless households while reducing our reliance on costly temporary accommodation.
We are recruiting experienced housing professionals across a range of roles, including Move-On Officers, Lead Professional/Assessment Officers, Tenancy Set-Up and Resettlement Officers, Accommodation Procurement Officers and a Team Leader. Working as an integrated team, you will take a proactive and individually tailored approach to households living in temporary accommodation, identifying and overcoming the barriers to move-on and making full use of opportunities in the private rented sector. These are delivery-focused roles, taking households from assessment and identification of the right housing solution through to a successful move and, where required, support to establish and sustain their new tenancy.

You will bring sound professional judgement, strong housing knowledge and the confidence to take ownership, negotiate effectively and work across organisational boundaries to get results.
