A Streetworks scheduler is responsible for submitting and managing permits and TTRN’s for all street works activities on the Winter Readiness project. Ensuring compliance with legislation and minimising disruption to the public highway by planning works efficiently. Liaising and work closely with contractors to reach deadlines.
About the Role:
We are looking for an organised and proactive Streetworks Scheduler to join our team and play a key role in coordinating and scheduling Streetworks activities for the Winter Readiness Project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling works, coordinating teams and resources, liaising with contractors and traffic management companies, and departments, ensuring that works are scheduled efficiently and in accordance with relevant Streetworks requirements.
This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organisation, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate Streetworks and highways activities.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and traffic management companies.
Coordinate work programmes / Whereabouts to ensure resources, teams, and equipment are available when required.
Manage and monitor Streetworks permits, notices, and associated documentation.
Ensure works are scheduled within agreed timescales and in accordance with relevant requirements.
Monitor planned and ongoing works and identify potential delays or conflicts.
Communicate changes to schedules and ensure all relevant parties are kept informed.
Coordinate traffic management requirements and ensure arrangements are in place prior to works commencing.
Maintain accurate records of works, permits, schedules, and communications.
Assist with resolving scheduling issues, clashes, and operational queries.
Work closely with site teams to ensure works are planned and delivered efficiently.
Support the management team with reporting, updates, and general administration.
Ensure all relevant systems and databases are kept accurate and up to date.
Desirable Experience:
Previous experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
Streetworks or highways scheduling.
Streetworks permitting and coordination.
Working with local authorities or highway authorities.
Traffic management.
Utilities or civil engineering.
Highways maintenance or construction.
Use of streetworks management or permitting systems.
Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and associated requirements.
Relevant streetworks qualifications, such as NRSWA/Streetworks qualifications, would be beneficial but are not essential, as training may be provided for the right candidate.
