Arrangements: Monday to Friday, Full time, 37 hours per week. Term Time Only + 2 Weeks (flexibility to discuss term time only arrangements).

Based across Smestow Academy (WV3 8HU) and Bloxwich Academy Primary (WS2 7JT).

Actual annual salary: £29,547.90 (FTE £32,677 - Scale Group 10).

Start date: As soon as possible.

About the Role

As Matrix Academy Trust begins to centralise the HR function, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated HR Officer to provide professional HR advice and support under the guidance of the HR Manager. This role will be supporting two of our Academies, based at Smestow Academy and Bloxwich Academy Primary. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who is proactive, highly organised, and committed to delivering an excellent HR service. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures, and upholding our commitment to safeguarding and employee wellbeing.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing recruitment processes, including employment checks and new starter documentation.
  • Ensuring appropriate reasonable adjustment records are in place for staff with disabilities or medical conditions.
  • Maintaining HR records and systems, including SIMS, payroll uploads, and employee filing systems.
  • Working across multiple sites to provide HR cover and capacity as required.
  • Delivering accurate, timely, and confidential HR administration to a high professional standard.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Having a minimum qualification of CIPD Level 3 (Level 5 desirable).
  • Previous experience in a HR role, ideally within education or a multi-site organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, employment law, and safer recruitment practices.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites, with access to a vehicle and a full driving licence.
