We are looking for an experienced Senior Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team, supporting our manufacturing operations in Bolton and Ashton.
This is an exciting opportunity for a supply chain professional who thrives on balancing demand, inventory, supplier performance, and operational requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Senior Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring material availability across multiple manufacturing sites while optimizing inventory levels and working capital.
You will work closely with Operations, Demand Planning, Category Management, Suppliers, and our Global Capability Centre (GCC) to anticipate supply risks, improve planning processes, and maintain service excellence.
What We Are Looking For 3+ years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Planning, Buying, or Supply Chain roles within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of inventory management, forecasting, and supply planning principlesExperience working with ERP/MRP systemsProven supplier management and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and influencing skillsHigh level of attention to detail and data accuracyAbility to prioritize and manage multiple activities across a complex manufacturing operationWhy Join Mativ?

What You Will Be Doing
Develop and execute short, medium, and long-term material supply plansEnsure material availability to support production and customer delivery requirementsIdentify supply risks, material shortages, and capacity constraints before they impact operationsDrive inventory optimization, reducing excess and obsolete stock while maintaining service levelsMaintain and improve site-wide inventory forecastsPartner with Demand Planning and Production Planning teams to align supply with changing business needsBuild strong supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvement initiativesShare forecasts and demand outlooks to improve supplier visibility and capacity planningFacilitate regular supplier reviews focused on service, continuity, and future demand requirementsManage and improve planning master data including lead times, safety stock, and planning parametersSupport new product introductions and material-related continuous improvement initiativesStandardize and continuously improve processes performed by the Global Capability Centre (GCC)Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and development activitiesContribute to supply chain resilience, operational efficiency, and working capital improvements
