We started in Manchester and now we’re global - with teams across the UK, US and India. We are driven, curious, energetic people who move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high standard. We’re here to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves. And we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
We are seeking a proactive, strategic, and high-impact Director, Solution Architecture to lead our International Solution Architecture team. In this role, you will lead a high-performing Solution Architect team covering EMEA, Middle East, and Africa. As a front-line leader, you will lead from the front, take ownership of strategic GTM initiatives, and complex technical challenges. This is a greenfield-heavy environment where initiative and business operationalisation are paramount, offering clear career progression toward Senior Director leadership roles.
What you will be doing:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of senior Solution Architects across EMEA, Middle East, and Africa to maximize revenue generation, customer success, and technical execution.
- Serving as an executive technical sponsor on high-value deals by joining customer meetings, strategy sessions, and architectural deep dives alongside your team.
- Managing team operational cadences, including conducting structured 1:1s, building individual professional development plans, and tracking team performance metrics.
- Driving strategic Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives and business operationalization to expand our global footprint and deliver measurable revenue growth over the next 6–12 months.
- Developing partner strategies in collaboration with regional ecosystems to align technical architectures and scale business impact across international markets.
- Aligning cross-functionally with key international leaders to unify pre-sales technical strategies with overarching business goals.
What we are looking for:
Required Experience & Leadership
- 10+ years of total experience in technical enterprise roles (Solution Architecture, Sales Engineering, Professional Services) with at least 5+ years managing, leading, or scaling pre-sales technical teams.
- Proven track record in enterprise solution selling, with a history of leading complex, multi-stakeholder technical sales cycles and driving multi-million-dollar ARR targets.
- Demonstrated experience institutionalising sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, or similar value-driven sales frameworks across a team.
- Deep expertise across cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise Cloud Data Platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
- Deep domain knowledge in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL environments (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Hands-on command of integration architecture, including APIs, Linux environments, SQL, and data pipeline technologies.
- Active experience leading/deploying AI initiatives, specifically enterprise adoption of Generative and Agentic AI workflows (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n).
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications
- Expertise in Data Productivity & ETL/ELT: Direct knowledge of Matillion's Data Productivity Cloud / Matillion ETL, or primary competitive data integration platforms.
