Overview

In this role, you lead a core product area end to end, balancing hands-on product work with team leadership to drive a multi-quarter roadmap and commercial outcomes. You will partner with Engineering, Design, GTM and Customer Success to align on strategy and delivery, while building and coaching a team of Product Managers. The position emphasizes data ecosystem expertise, AI-enabled product work, and operating at scale with cross-functional stakeholders. You will shape how data becomes more automated and actionable for customers, contributing to Matillion’s mission to move the data economy forward.

Responsibilities

  • Own an end-to-end product area strategy and multi-quarter roadmap with resource trade-offs and commercial accountability
  • Maintain hands-on ownership of a product area: write specs, conduct discovery, make product calls
  • Set and enforce quality standards for the product area and intervene with senior stakeholders when necessary
  • Understand user needs across data engineering, analytics and platform personas; maintain market view of data and AI ecosystem
  • Build and lead a team of Product Managers, define operating rhythm and AI-enabled ways of working
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Design, GTM, Customer Success and Marketing; present roadmap and trade-offs to leadership and customers

Key requirements

  • 10+ years in product management
  • 3+ years of direct PM management experience
  • Track record shipping and scaling B2B products end to end with commercial impact
  • People leadership experience with hiring and coaching Product Managers
  • Hands-on exposure to the data ecosystem for credible technical trade-offs
  • Systems thinking at scale balancing craft, speed and commercial impact across workstreams
  • Deep data literacy and evidence-based decision-making
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate product work and teach/drive adoption
  • Excellent communication with executives and senior customers
  • ability to manage under commercial pressure while maintaining quality
