About Us
Mathnasium is the world’s leading maths-only learning provider, with more than 1,200 centres worldwide. Mathnasium of Guildford opened in June 2026 and is growing quickly.
We work with children from Reception through to GCSE, helping them develop strong mathematical understanding, confidence and enjoyment of maths.
We are looking for an Assistant Centre Manager to join our growing team, with a particular focus on students, parents, team support and the day-to-day running of the centre.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and families and wants to develop a career in education, leadership and management.
Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will help ensure every student and family receives an outstanding experience. You will work directly with students and instructors, monitor progress, communicate regularly with parents and help manage the day-to-day operation of the centre.
As the centre grows, there will be opportunities to take on increasing management responsibility.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Working directly with students and supporting their mathematical development
- Building strong relationships with parents and discussing student progress
- Supervising, coaching and supporting our team of maths instructors
- Supporting enquiries, enrolments and prospective families
- Supporting instructor recruitment, onboarding and training
- Helping manage the day-to-day educational and operational running of the centre
- Taking responsibility for the centre when the Centre Manager is absent
- Supporting relationships with local schools and the wider Guildford community
- GCSE Mathematics at a good standard, or equivalent
- Experience in management, education, sales or a customer-facing role

- A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment
- A professional, reliable and positive approach
- An interest in developing a career in leadership and management
Experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or working in an educational setting would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A degree or mathematical background may be helpful but is not required. We are primarily looking for someone who is excellent with children, parents and people, and who has the potential to develop into a strong educational and operational leader.
