Job Title: Production Lead– Belfast 2nd Shift

Department: Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

General Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Production Lead is fully responsible for all Manufacturing operations on their line. This position will have 6-8 direct reports. The Production Lead is responsible for hitting all production and quality targets for their line. This is an hourly position with general hours of 4:45pm to 1:30am on a daily basis and 3:30am when the team is working overtime.

Essential Job Functions

  • Production operations
    • Ensures that team meet all quantity and quality targets and addresses any performance issues immediately
    • Motivates team appropriately and ensures they are seeing the larger company vision
    • Ensures that new hires are being trained appropriately
  • Team management and development
    • Holds direct reports accountable to quality and quantity targets and addresses performance issues as needed
    • Develops trainers and a backup Lead
    • Owns and develops the positive culture of the team
    • Addresses employee concerns and issues immediately and partners with Human Resources and Production Manager to manage as needed
    • Ensuring that team members are being effectively rotated and that stretching is occurring
  • Communication
    • Ensures frequent and clear communication to Production Manager regarding any production or employee issues
    • Daily handoff to 1st shift Production Lead via email that clearly outlines all critical information from the shift
    • Consistent collaboration with Human Resources on employee issues and challenges

Skills/Experience/Training Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment in leadership role
  • High attention to detail
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a team
  • Proven ability to meet specific production targets

Working Conditions

  • Working hours are 4:00pm to 1:30am and 4:00pm to 3:30am when teams are working overtime
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to grasp and lift
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus required
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
  • Regularly exposed to high noise level
