The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced and driven General Manager to lead The Landora large, high-volume fun pub in the heart of Clapham. This is a standout opportunity to take full ownership of a busy, well-established site with strong wet-led trade, live sport, private hire, and a loyal local following. We are looking for a hands-on operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver both commercial performance and exceptional guest experience.
About the Role
As General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the performance of the business, including:
- Driving sales, profit, and operational excellence
- Leading, developing and inspiring a large front-of-house team
- Managing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, disciplinaries and staff welfare
- Ensuring full compliance with employment law and company procedures
- Delivering high standards across service, atmosphere, and compliance
- Managing labour, stock, and GP control
- A hands-on leader who is visible on the floor and leads the team through busy services
- Maximising revenue through events, sport and peak trading periods
This is a role for someone who is as comfortable on the floor during a busy service as they are reviewing the weekly P&L and planning the week ahead.
About You
We are looking for a confident and energetic leader who:
- Has proven experience as a General Manager in a high-volume pub/bar
- Has strong experience managing HR processes and team performance
- Is commercially astute with solid financial understanding
- Leads from the front and is excellent with both customers and staff
- Has experience managing busy, high-volume trading environments
- Is confident handling disciplinary processes and difficult conversations
- Is passionate about hospitality and creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere
- Can build, train and retain a high-performing team
