Salary: £36,068 - £46,419 depending on experience + benefits

Location: Bristol, Hybrid working 2 days on site per week

We’re looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Management Accountant to join our Finance team, focusing on grants and audit activity. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our grant-funded programmes are accurate, compliant and well managed – while working closely with teams across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning end-to-end grant claim processes, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered on time
  • Managing calculations, reporting and reconciliations for grant-funded activity
  • Partnering with project, PMO and finance colleagues to improve the accuracy and efficiency of grant processes
  • Supporting external audits, acting as a key contact for auditors and providing required information
  • Producing grant rate calculations (labour, equipment and overheads) in line with funder requirements
  • Monitoring grant spend and providing regular updates to budget holders
  • Delivering monthly reconciliations between the General Ledger and grant claims
  • Providing wider support across Finance, including statutory audit activity and ad hoc reporting

What we’re looking for:

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experience working with large data sets to produce accurate financial outputs
  • Strong analytical skills with a “right-first-time” mindset
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance or working with auditors
  • Confident communicator, able to explain complex financial information clearly
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across teams
  • Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience in a project or grant-funded environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O)
