This role focuses on supporting key highways projects in the South of England, offering flexible arrangements and a rolling 6-month term outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the design and assessment of sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) for highways schemes.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary design team to deliver drainage solutions in compliance with national and local standards.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, drainage models, and design reports.
- Engage with stakeholders and review planning, environmental, and regulatory constraints.
- Contribute to flood risk assessments and drainage impact studies.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in drainage design, particularly for highways or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with relevant industry software, such as: MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS tools (desirable).
- Familiarity with current design standards and guidance (e.g., DMRB, CIRIA SuDS Manual).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a wider team.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering projects under local authority frameworks or National Highways.
- Chartered or working towards chartership (CIWEM, ICE) - preferred but not essential.
