Our partner, BAE Systems, are seeking experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join their growing team in Glasgow on a 12 month contract, offering competitive rates for both locals and those willing to commute from further afield.
As part of a specialist team, you’ll be working on the latest generation of naval frigates, the Type 26.

What will I be doing?
BAE Systems are looking for a talented Sheet Metal Worker to join their team and make your mark in both shop and ship environments.
In the Shop:
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you’ll oversee the fabrication of ventilation systems like spiral and box vents, and the creation of sheet metal furniture, including lockers and cabinets, all based on detailed drawings. You’ll use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment to deliver precision and quality in the metal work you complete.
On the ship:
Here, you’ll help to craft and install ventilation systems on ships that deliver efficient air circulation. You’ll also help to optimise storage space on board by fabricating sheet metal furniture, as well as creating electrical cable trays and low-pressure pipework trays.
Pay rates
BAE Systems offers a range of payrates for PAYE contractors, depending on your allocated shifts, and the distance you’re travelling to reach the site. You can speak to our team to find out more about the shift options by clicking the apply button.
PAYE- If travelling within 39 miles of work location
- Standard Shift – 19.40 per hour
- Weekend and Night Shift – 25.80 per hour
- Weekday and Saturday OT – 31.52 per hour
- Sunday OT – 42.02 per hour
Umbrella – If travelling within 39 miles of work location
- Standard Shift – 25.22 per hour
- Weekend and Night Shift – 33.36 per hour
- Weekday and Saturday OT – 35.43 per hour
- Sunday OT – 47.20 per hour
PAYE – If travelling more than 39 miles to work location
- Standard Shift – 27.40 per hour
- Weekend and Night Shift – 33.80 per hour
