Our client, renowned for its expertise in the airport sector, is seeking an experienced Service Support Engineer to join their Service Delivery Support team at Heathrow Airport. This exciting contract role offers a minimum 12-month duration on a full-time basis, focussing on CCTV systems and associated technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide support to various clients at Heathrow Airport, either remotely or on-site, ensuring smooth operations of CCTV infrastructure assets and related systems.
- Conduct preventative, planned, and corrective maintenance on edge devices as well as backend applications, covering both hardware and software aspects.
- Deliver 24/7 on-call support, adhering to contractual Service Level Agreements.
- Work within established project processes and standards, liaising with different teams at Heathrow and other airport locations as needed.
- Identify resource and service demands for future projects and ensure timely procurement.
- Produce regular reports and maintain comprehensive folders for all support projects.
- Coordinate with planning-supervisors, construction managers, and various airport clients, acting as the focal point for the Delivery Support team.
- Provide detailed documentation upon project completion to facilitate ongoing support for new installations.
Job Requirements:
- General understanding of CCTV VMS systems, with experience in Genetec being beneficial.
- Experience in CCTV, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), and radar systems is advantageous.
- Substantial skills in IP-based Security Systems or Networking support functions.
- Logical problem-solving abilities to find effective solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of specialised telecoms services, preferably with airport services experience.
- Specific knowledge of network products and suppliers would be advantageous.
- Experience in real-world deployments, LAN and wireless technology is beneficial.
- Professional experience in IT, Network, or Engineering maintenance departments, with formal education to C&G, HNC or A-level standard.
- Proficiency in using MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel, and MS Word.
