Job Summary Health and Safety Key skills required for this role: Health and Safety Rail Important Health and Safety Manager Rail Job Description Our client, a leading company in the rail industry, is seeking a highly skilled Rail Health and Safety Manager to join their team. With their extensive experience in rail infrastructure, our client covers all aspects of the railway system, ensuring safety and adherence to industry standards and processes. As the Rail Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing subject matter advice, assurance, direction, and support to the Rail Team. Your main focus will be on continuous improvement, taking the lead in all areas of safety, health, and environment (SHE). Additionally, you will support the planning and delivery of projects across the Rail Sector. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety: Be an ambassador for our client’s safety program and ensure the implementation of SHE practices across the Rail Team. Monitor fatigue management and working hours to ensure proper planning of working patterns. Manage the Sentinel App/Portal as the main point of contact for the Rail Sector. Monitor and plan sentinel team competency requirements. Lead monthly safety reviews and quarterly safety briefings. Carry out investigations as required. Lead RISQS Reviews. Support the planning of safety tours. Act as the Controller of Site Safety (COSS). Manage updates and reviews of Rail policies and procedures. OPI Work: Plan and program Operational Property Inspections (OPI) work. Project manage OPI work. Prepare Safe Systems of Work Planning (SSOWP) and all relevant safe work packs. Project Management: Take the lead in project managing various engineering schemes. About You: Essential skills and qualifications: PTS (Personal Track Safety) qualified. Relevant experience in successfully managing safety, health, quality, and environmental governance in the rail industry. Demonstrable understanding of the UK and European legislative framework. Demonstrable Network Rail project management experience. Organized and reliable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred skills and qualifications: Membership of IOSH. Hold current COSS (Controller of Site Safety) and OLEC competency (not mandatory). Proven knowledge of investigation and shared learning processes. Project management experience. Strong management, interpersonal, influencing, and organizational skills. Share manages this role.
