Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, review, design, consultation, and delivery of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority implementations to reduce congestion and enhance road safety, including School Streets, strategic cycle routes, and traffic signal works.
  • Oversee bus lanes and various measures targeting congestion reduction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to team members within the Streetspace team.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain robust client and community relationships through effective communication and customer service.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Principal Engineer in the traffic and transportation sector.
  • Working knowledge of highways, traffic, and transport legislation and practices.
  • Understanding of current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing transport policy.
  • Proven track record in the successful delivery of traffic and parking schemes.
  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in the field.
