Job description

This permanent role involves the critical task of physically incorporating Integrated Combat System equipment onto Royal Navy submarines. The role is part of the Platform Physical Design Team, which provides essential services within the client\’s specialist engineering division. This opportunity allows you to liaise with high-level stakeholders and develop a longstanding career within the defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing combat designs and providing mechanical design feedback (structural, thermal, and hydraulic) in the naval/marine domain
  • Taking ownership of specific mechanical design issues and managing Integrated Combat Systems
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders while managing updates and design inputs
  • Producing CS mechanical design interface information
  • Performing engineering calculations and generating associated test specifications and procedures
  • Producing engineering drawings in FORAN/CADS5/Visio to BS 8888 standards

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems engineering
  • Degree or HND qualified with relevant experience
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with Defence Standards
