Our client, a key player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Luton for an initial 12-month contract. This role will be carried out onsite and requires SC clearance, though candidates can start on BPSS. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative team working on the assembly of complex electro-mechanical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Soldering to IPC standards
- Identifying and using hand tools with high accuracy
- Working within a cleanroom environment under high power microscopes
- Maintaining awareness of FOD/ESD/"clean as you go" practices
- Self-inspecting work to mitigate quality defects
- Adhering to written instructions and production process times
- Raising quality notifications as necessary
- Coordinating and controlling production equipment in-line with company processes
- Carrying out both repeat production and varied one-off tasks
Job Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing and electrical fitting
- Soldering to IPC standards
- Ability to work accurately with hand tools
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment
- Complete understanding of FOD/ESD/"clean as you go" practices
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-inspect work
- Capability to work from written instructions and drawings
- Familiarity with raising quality notifications
- Experience coordinating and controlling production equipment
Preferred Skills:
- Current IPC certificates in J-Std-001, IPC 610
- Experience with microwave circuitry
- Experience working with pick and place machines
