Essential Job Functions:
- The System Engineer is responsible for the project engineering deliverables, including:
- Design compliance
- Design sub-contractor management
- Project design approval
- Ensuring that all safety and structural standards are met throughout the delivery of the project.
- Support the recruitment and mobilisation of the Project Engineering team.
- Produce and Maintain the WTB Design and Engineering Management Plan.
- Develop and implement design and engineering processes and procedures specific to the project.
- Overseeing the design team to develop safe, efficient, and effective engineering solutions that will fall within the budget and are in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Be responsible for setting and managing the system of systems approach required to deliver the project.
- Ensure the safety and efficiency of all Project engineering operations.
- Ensuring that Design and Engineering tasks are completed on time, within budgets and that all applicable standards are achieved.
- Responsible for ensuring project design solutions comply with the customers system requirements documents, compliancy document and contractual requirements.
- Managing sub-contractor designs and engineering outputs, ensuring compliance with the Statement of Work, compliancy document and system requirements documents.
- Responsible for the development, management and execution of the Trials, Verification and Validation Plan.
- Responsible for achieving all necessary and required systems certifications.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure weekly and monthly management reporting material is provided and maintained.
- Engender and maintain a mission zero safety culture throughout the programme delivery team and supply chain.
Qualifications Required:
- BSc degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Active certification in an engineering professional organisation.
- Professional Engineering Licensure.
- Advanced understanding of engineering principles and procedures.
Skills / Experience Required:
- At least 5 years experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment at Chief Engineer or Design Management level.
- Knowledge and experience of System Engineering principles and practices.
- Must be able to collaborate and bridge the communications gap between the engineering team, service technicians, business managers, and clients, interfacing with each.
- Must have experience leading teams of individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Management Systems and ISO 45001:2018.
- Proficient in use of design software packages.
- Working with Military Organisations and associated procurement establishments.
- Working knowledge and use of AQAP, Mil Stan, Def Stan, European, British and ISO standards.
- Working knowledge of human factors engineering.
- Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with an obsessive attention to detail.
- Security Cleared or be able to achieve security clearance.
- Previous understanding of process for CE marking of equipment systems.
