Our client, a leading entity within the Highways sector, is currently seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The role is predominantly site-based within the Highways section of Engineering Group 2, with an option for working from home by agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and manage the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement projects.
  2. Plan and schedule works in line with the overall programme of works.
  3. Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance works including carriageway and footway resurfacing/reconstruction.
  4. Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and other teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Job Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in highway maintenance.
  2. Proven knowledge of the planning and delivery of highway maintenance works.
  3. Strong site supervision skills, ensuring safety and efficiency in maintenance operations.
  4. Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and contractors.
  5. Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.

Contract Details:

  1. Initial contract duration of 3 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months, subject to contract performance.
  2. Predominantly site-based role with an option for working from home by agreement.
