Matchtech are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to come and work for a specialist engineering contractor in Highbridge, Somerset (TA9) on a permanent basis. The individual will undertake the critical role of overseeing significant highway and civil engineering projects across Portishead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project delivery from pre-qualification and tendering through to completion
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring teams are briefed on contractual parameters and objectives
- Deliver contracts in full compliance with relevant legislation, contract terms, and health, safety, quality and environmental standards
- Maintain oversight of programme and budget, monitoring progress against agreed objectives
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to achieve high standards of safety, quality and productivity
- Identify, agree, and manage contract changes in collaboration with the Project Delivery Team
- Prepare and submit formal progress reports for the Framework Manager
- Identify and develop potential business opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil engineering, highways, bridges, or structural works
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification
- SMSTS and PTS certifications
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent programme and stakeholder management capabilities
- Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary site teams and managing subcontractors
- Highways England experience
