The EMC Engineer will be responsible for guiding the designs and testing across multiple projects. Ideally candidates will have experience of TEMPEST, but this is not essential for this role. Qualifications / skills required:
Degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience of EMC requirements and testing.
Be able to investigate EMC failures and suggest corrective actions.
Ideally some experience of TEMPEST
Proven track record of collaborative working with the test houses.
Experience of best practice for right-first-time design for EMC and ideally TEMPEST.
Must be able to obtain DV clearance
Responsibilities:
Keep up to date with relevant EMC and TEMPEST standards.
Participate is requirements reviews and make contribution to the applicable EMC and TEMPEST standards.
Review the relevant test and control plans to ensure that the products will be adequately tested for EMC and TEMPEST.
Liaise with the test houses to ensure that they are appropriately trained on the product and supporting equipment.
Visit test houses during testing and resolve any issues.
Estimate time and effort required for the test activities to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
Work constructively with other project team members, actively contributing to design reviews, to ensure a collaborative working environment.
Explains technically complex concepts clearly to less technical/involved parties.
If and when EMC or TEMPEST related failures arise, to determine the cause and work with the engineers to find solutions which ideally should not require major changes to the hardware.
Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual to ensure compliance with Government regulations.
