Location: Weymouth, Greenford OR Loudwater (1-2 days per week onsite average) Duration: 9 month initial contract Rate: £60-£70ph UMB (Inside IR35) Role details: Our client, prominent in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Configuration Engineer for contract work at either Greenford, Loudwater, or Weymouth. This position involves both remote work and onsite presence (1-2 days per week), with an initial period requiring more frequent onsite attendance to assimilate business knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Leading the application of Configuration Management (CM) systems to various projects and products Ensuring all projects and products meet CM standards and customer needs Assist the develop and implementation of CM processes that are scalable, resilient, and continuously improving. Championing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation Manage robust change control processes, ensuring transparency, traceability, and visibility of changes throughout the lifecycle within a project or a product. Operating version control systems for real-time tracking and reporting Maintaining cross-functional collaboration for seamless CM processes Utilising CM tools to support automation and innovation Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and industry standards Operate CM tools to support automation and innovation, creating a stable foundation for continuous improvement. Ideally demonstrate knowledge of PTC Windchill. Job Requirements: Experience with Windchill Degree level or equivalent in a Configuration Management related discipline with CMII. Experience in configuration management, with a focus on lifecycle management, automation, and collaboration; including Def Stan 05-57, ISO10007 or EN9100. Understanding of CM processes, tools, and best practices for ensuring integrity and transparency of CIs across projects. Demonstrated ability to communicate, organise, and work in a team to deliver project requirements aligned with business objectives. Able to foster small team collaboration and innovation within CM frameworks. A focused mindset with a pragmatic approach to implementing CM.
