The successful candidate will be capable of tooling setup, minor program edits (Mazatrol & ISO G-Code), and working independently to provided instructions while collaborating closely with colleagues to drive process improvements and maintain high-quality production. The role will focus on setting and operating Mazak 5-Axis CNC Machining Centres, including: Mazak Integrex E-1600V/10 Mazak Integrex I-500 V/5 Key Responsibilities: Set and operate Mazak 5-axis mill/turn machines. Perform program edits as required (Mazatrol and ISO G-Code). Set tooling efficiently and accurately. Read and interpret engineering drawings confidently. Use a wide range of measuring equipment to verify components. Handle castings and metals such as Inconel, Aluminium Bronze, Cast Iron, Duplex, and Stainless Steel. Safely use hand and power tools, overhead cranes, slinging, and lifting (training provided). Drive process improvements as part of a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture. Maintain a clean, organised work area in line with 5S principles. Ensure all work meets quality standards and follow defined processes. Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines. Support cross-training and assist in training others when required. Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures. Desired Skills and Experience Essential: Minimum 5 years\’ experience in an engineering manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years\’ CNC machining experience (milling and turning preferred). Experience setting and operating Mazak CNC machines. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to read and edit CNC programs (G-Code and Mazatrol). Strong knowledge of turning and milling techniques. Proven problem-solving abilities. Good verbal and written communication skills. Flexible, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Advantageous: Apprentice trained (Engineering discipline). Offline programming experience (Edgecam, Mastercam, or Mazatrol). Experience in a Continuous Improvement/Lean environment (knowledge of the 8 wastes). Safety and 5S awareness. Rates and other info: £34.50 per hour (Ltd Co / Umbrella) or £25.76/h plus £3.11 holiday pay (can be accrued or advanced) Late shift (14:30 – 22:30, Monday to Friday). 6 month contract – chance of extension Accommodation provided for non-local contractors
