Our client, a leading firm in the power utilities and distribution sector, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their team in East Anglia. This is a permanent role with the flexibility to work from home when required, providing an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will work on a range of renewable energy projects and have the opportunity for future progression to a Senior Civil Design Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake substation civil and HV cable installation drawings, adhering to industry standards and company quality processes.
  • Manage document control for produced drawings and log transmittal of drawings.
  • Produce cost-effective and technically sound civil design drawings to construction-level detail.
  • Utilise Revit for architectural detailing, including concrete reinforcement.
  • Produce design briefs to instruct external design resources.
  • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage external design resources to ensure civil design output meets business requirements.
  • Audit design work for compliance with relevant standards and financial management.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, including complex 2D and 3D drawings, families, libraries, and more.
  • Experience with utility infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Competent in using ROBOT structural calculation software for rebar design validation.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and meet set targets.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A degree in a relevant engineering subject is preferred, but significant experience is equally important.
  • Understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and the design and construction process.
  • Sound knowledge of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
