Electronics Prototype Technician

Permanent | 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced electronics professional with strong hands-on prototyping skills? Do you enjoy working closely with engineers to bring cutting-edge designs to life? We are looking for a talented Electronics Prototype Technician to join our Product Development and Manufacturing team.

About the Role

This is a full-time, office-based position within our busy R&D and product development environment. You will play a key part in building, assembling, and troubleshooting advanced electronic prototypes - particularly in RF and PCB technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • PCB and general electronics assembly to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards
  • Hand soldering of fine-pitch SMD components (including 0603 and 0402)
  • PCB rework and fault-finding
  • Building complex prototypes from schematics and engineering drawings with minimal supervision
  • Maintaining accurate build records and documentation using standard office IT tools
  • Mechanical assembly and detailed wiring (advantageous)

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Flexible and confident managing multiple tasks in a busy R&D lab
  • Experienced - minimum 3 years in an electronics lab or assembly environment
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with engineers as part of a project team
  • Positive, proactive, and keen to learn new skills
  • Able to contribute to maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient laboratory environment
