The Role
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the integration of electrical systems and components into complex products and platforms, but may be expected to support other technical domains depending on the nature of the department workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of new electrical system architectures.
- Engine, Transmission and Electrical Systems IC Engine Integration, E-Machine & Inverter exposure, EMC, Voltage Requirements etc.
- Development of electrical integration solutions for new and existing platforms.
- Selection of components.
- Creation and maintenance of wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and system schematics.
- Integration of sensors, actuators, control units, and communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
- Liaison with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure compatibility and performance.
- Conduct system-level testing and validation of integrated electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to power distribution, signal integrity, and communication protocols, and provide hands-on support to builds.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Documentation of integration processes, test results, and change management records.
- Interfacing directly with clients and suppliers on technical issues.
- Reporting of technical status internally and to customers.
- Focus on delivery of projects on-time and on-budget.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Electrical / Electronics or similar.
- Proven experience on military vehicles.
- Experience in successful deployment of complex electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, wiring harnesses, and circuit protection.
- Experience providing technical leadership to engineering project teams.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc).
- Proficiency in CAD tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Competencies and Experience
- Experience with development / deployment of embedded systems and control units.
- Experience with development / deployment of industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards and practices.
- Experience with prototype development and testing.
