A Contract position Outside IR35 Hybrid working. 3 days on site. Our client, a pioneering company in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role supports the design and development of an electromechanical High Voltage (HV) Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for a groundbreaking hydrogen propulsion system, making it a unique opportunity within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the design and development of an electromechanical HV PDU for the ZA200-B hydrogen propulsion system.
- Preparing, maintaining, and reviewing power distribution documentation, records, and reports to support the development of the ZA200 hydrogen propulsion system.
- Engaging with external partners and suppliers to develop and mature high-voltage power distribution units for the ZA200-A hydrogen propulsion system.
- Planning and building test plans to support power distribution commissioning activities.
- Providing hands-on experience in Power Distribution System (PDS) simulation, analysis, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting.
- Sizing and analysing electrical components.
- Providing technical support and guidance to engineers, technicians, and operators on PDS-related topics.
- Developing and analysing electrical load profiles across multiple aircraft operating states for the HV system.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electrical design within the aerospace sector.
- Proven ability to support HV PDU projects from design through to commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with PDS simulation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of component sizing and analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD software (desirable).
- Ability to prepare, maintain, and review technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with external partners and suppliers.
