Colchester Lathe Operator Location: Titchfield, Hampshire (Please note: the business will soon relocate to a brand-new manufacturing facility in Lee-on-the-Solent, offering an exciting opportunity to join during a period of growth and investment.)

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Colchester Lathe Operator to join a growing aerospace manufacturing business on a long-term PAYE contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to exacting aerospace standards. You will be responsible for setting and operating Colchester lathes, working from engineering drawings, and ensuring all work meets strict quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Colchester lathes safely and efficiently.
  • Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to all health, safety and aerospace quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience operating Colchester lathes within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Eligibility

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to comply with ITAR requirements.
