About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Colchester Lathe Operator to join a growing aerospace manufacturing business on a long-term PAYE contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to exacting aerospace standards. You will be responsible for setting and operating Colchester lathes, working from engineering drawings, and ensuring all work meets strict quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Colchester lathes safely and efficiently.
- Manufacture components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct in-process inspections using standard measuring equipment.
- Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Adhere to all health, safety and aerospace quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing team.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience operating Colchester lathes within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eligibility
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to comply with ITAR requirements.
