Havant, Hamphire ?? £14.01 per hour 18% shift allowance (£16.53 per hour equivalent) ?? £32,228 per annum ? 37.5 hours per week Shift Pattern Double Days (Rotating Weekly) Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00 Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00 The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in Havant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern machining environment producing high-quality precision components for a variety of industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and customer specifications are consistently achieved. Experience on Citizen Sliding Head machines would be advantageous, although full training can be provided for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC turning machines, including multi-axis machinery. Carry out tooling changes, offset adjustments, and minor programme edits. Produce precision components to tight tolerances and quality standards. Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Conduct first-off and in-process inspections. Use a range of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing department. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines. CNC turning experience within a precision engineering environment. Experience with tooling, offsets, and programme adjustments. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience using a variety of inspection and measuring equipment. Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling. Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Experience with Sliding Head machinery (Citizen preferred) would be highly advantageous but is not essential. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
