A leading precision engineering business in Poole is looking for a CNC Miller/Turner (Mazak) to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on machine shop role where quality matters, the work stays varied, and you will be trusted to run your own jobs from set-up through to inspection.

Shift pattern (rotating):

  • Early Shift (2 weeks): Mon-Thurs 6:00am-2:15pm, Fri 6:00am-12:00pm
  • Late Shift (2 weeks): Mon-Thurs 2:15pm-10:15pm, Fri 12:00pm-7:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Set machines using set-up sheets, and feedback any improvements or corrections needed.
  • Manufacture parts to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
  • Complete your own initial inspections and record quality documentation, including OEE data.
  • Maintain production targets and flag issues early to keep work flowing.
  • Work closely with Production Engineers to maximise productivity and reduce downtime.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience setting and running Mill Turn CNC machines.
  • Mazak experience (Mazatrol knowledge highly beneficial), with confidence proving out programs.
  • Good communication, especially when spotting risks, issues, or improvements.
  • Confident using relevant shopfloor computer systems/software.
  • Flexible attitude and a strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety.
